Durban International Airport (DUR) is located at a distance of 11 miles (17 km) from the city centre of Durban, within the KwaZulu-Natal province. The airport is served by many international airlines, linking Durban to several major destinations with direct flights.

Travelers will easily find ground transportation services from the airport, including taxi, coach and shuttle services that provide regular routes between the airport, beach area and Durban City. Within the airport’s perimeter, there are shops, bars and restaurants available.

The shuttle buses are considered to be the cheapest option to get from the airport to Durban City, costing around $20.

Getting around in Durban City

By Bus:

Durban City’s public transportation service is operated by Intercape, Greyhound, Translux and Baz Bus, connecting the city with different areas in South Africa. Durban Bus Station is the place where Greyhound and Translux arrive and depart, while Baz Bus is operating from the Tourist Junction.

By Car:

By Train:

For example, for a trip between Johannesburg and Cape Town, using Shosholoza Meyl train passes, visitors will pay only $38, compared to the $1,150 price provided by Blue Train.
